The Leigh Cocktail

In honor of launching this week and today being National Cocktail Day, it seemed only fitting that I share a recipe that I came up with during the process of creating Studio Leigh, so I obviously named it “The Leigh.”

I am normally pretty basic and either drink Rosé or Prosecco, plain or in mimosa form, but last summer I discovered the Ketel One Botanical Vodka line and started to test out different recipes. I’m pretty big on citrus flavors over here, if you know me personally you know I don’t like coffee, so I count on my caffeine from Crystal Light… yes I said Crystal Light (it’s much cheaper than your coffee, so don’t judge), so when I saw that there was a Peach & Orange Blossom flavor I was in.

I wanted to create a cocktail that was fresh and light, so I took inspiration from some of my favorite elements and flavors in other cocktails and ended up with a pretty good combination.

Ingredients (with very specific measurements):

  • One medium-sized orange

  • One shot of Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka

  • Splash of lemon juice

  • Splash of lime juice

  • A little ginger beer

  • Splash of simple syrup (if it needs a little extra sweetness pending on the fruit that day)

  • Handful of ice

Steps:

  1. Grab your favorite glass and fill it with ice. (I’m sure it technically isn’t right to start with ice, but I digress.)

  2. Squeeze the whole orange into the glass.

  3. Add a shot of Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka.

  4. Add a splash of both lemon and lime juice.

  5. Top with ginger beer.

  6. Mix and taste! Throw in a little simple syrup if you’d like pending on the sweet to tart ratio.

  7. Enjoy!
